National Quantum Mission for India will be implemented by the Department of Science & Technology.
The objective of the National Quantum Mission is to promote quantum technology in the country and to promote its scientific and industrial research and development
This will boost Quantum Technology-led economic growth in India and make India a global hub in the field of Quantum Technologies and Applications.
The mission will develop magnetometers with high sensitivity in atomic systems & atomic clocks for precision timing, communication, and navigation.
Quantum technology is considered to be the technology of the future. This is the technology of the future to make computing systems much more accurate and super fast.
National Quantum Mission worth a total cost of Rs. 6003.65 Cr. from 2023-24 to 2030-31. Budget 2023 announced Rs 8,000 cr over the next 5 years in the National Mission on Quantum technology and its application.
